"Paris is the cosmopolitan capital of France and - with 2.2 million people living in zone 1 (Central Paris) and another 9.9 million people in the suburbs (la banlieue) - is one of the largest cities in Europe. Located in the north of the country on the river Seine, Paris has the reputation of being the most beautiful and romantic of all cities, brimming with historical associations and remaining vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design. Dubbed the City of Light, it is the most popular tourist destination in the world." -- Wikitravel
Despite of the above, believe me when I say that you can get bored from visiting Paris. It did happen in our case, as events such as the coming of Gangal's parents, delay in the arrival of Das, Bahreni ditching Spain etc. meant that our Eurotrip couldn't start even on the fourth weekend of our stay in France. Well, still looking for some decent and fun place to go in Paris, and Gangal out for a Swiss weekend with his parents, we landed up at Sacre-Coeur (French for: Sacred Heart). It's a cathedral constructed atop a beautiful hill, and offers a spectacular view of the entire city. To our great surprise, French couples didn't even spare the gardens in front of a cathedral and were found making out (Man ! I love this country !!). Meanwhile, the souvenir shops near the cathedral had a rough time coping up with 4 cheap Indians, as Maru and Pande went on a shoplifting spree.
With Das arriving the next day and plans of smoking hash in Amsterdam made when the fraternity was in India, it felt wise at that moment to buy a pack of Cigarettes, just for practice. FYI, "Smoking also increases intelligence and your attraction to the opposite sex" -- Uncyclopedia. Well, so it started, the evening fun was full of beer and cigarettes as we roamed around in Paris without any specific aims. This was the time when we came across the party square of Paris, Chatelet. Lined with pubs and clubs, and with hot babes roaming around, this was the place we definitely had been looking for the whole evening. For the informed, the Parisian's philosophy when it comes to girls goes like, "If a girl speaks English, don't let the opportunity go". Of course, such girls are very rare in France, but this day was one of our lucky ones and we did manage to find English speaking girls.
In a manner not very different from stalking, we were following every group of hot looking girls in Chatelet, till the point it started looking awkard or the girls met their boyfriends. Now, we were behind 3 highly drunk, lovely looking girls, when suddenly they stopped at a crepe shop and started asking something in English. ENGLISH ! That's it !! All 4 of us, going by the Parisian's philosophy, were behind those girls who were tourists and didn't know French. JACKPOT!! Everyone of us, thought.
After the crepe shop , when these girls entered a porn video store, we were fully convinced that they were fully drunk as well as single. The sequence of events had been so remarkable and also with all the alcohol in the blood, we had finally made up our minds as well as gathered enough courage (Damn ! I hate India !!) to ask them out. It was Pande who was sent up to the girls, to ask them out for a drink. Well, the girls did agree and we went together (Yaay ! First time 'with' some girls, and not 'behind' them) in search for a good place to have a drink. We came to know that they were Swedish students and were in Paris for only 3 days. We drank, talked and had a nice time. We exchanged numbers and decided to have Sushi for lunch the next day (Yawn !! Yeah, for all those who are expecting more to happen, no it didn't .. Once again, I hate India). They took leave, and even though wanted to give a French kiss to Bahreni, the stupid ass-hole presented his cheek. What a loser !!
Of course, the call never came and we didn't see them again. And we are still looking for more girls, who speak English and are single ...
